Stretch Construction is Acting as General Contractor For an Industrial Building in Kelowna, BC
In the Okanagan, there has been a growing demand for industrial spaces in the construction industry. According to studies related to The City of Kelowna’s Official Community Plan, that demand is projected to increase even further in the coming years.
And to meet the needs of industrial businesses in Kelowna and the Okanagan area, new projects are arising here at Stretch. So we are excited to announce an upcoming industrial project in Kelowna. We have been hired as the General Contractor for this project; it is anticipated that we will kick this project off in the spring of 2023.
We will be utilizing Stretch’s in-house design services to their full advantage. Our team will be executing all the research and architectural design work for this industrial project with the guidance of our on-staff architectural technologist.
This industrial build will be located on one acre of land in Kelowna, BC. The building will offer approximately 30,000 sq ft of gross floor area. It will feature larger bays that will be for lease, which makes it unique for this type of building. Many recent industrial buildings that Stretch and other construction companies in this area have developed have been designed with smaller bays. This unit design will appeal to a different tenant who requires the additional space for their business.
The design of this industrial build will also feature docks and grade-level loading. This type of loading design will allow tenants’ vehicles to easily access the bay and provides ultimate flexibility.
To ensure the success of this build, our team will be constructing the building out of precast concrete. As we have mentioned before, constructing with precast concrete can have many benefits for a construction project, including fast project timelines, improved sound transmission ratings and lower operational costs.
